This professional learning will focus on enabling teachers of Years 6-9 to know and understand science and scientific processes.

Teachers will engage in a series of five workshops.

• Each of the first four workshops will highlight one of the sub-strands of the Science Understanding strand in the Australian Curriculum: Science; Biological Sciences, Chemical Sciences, Earth and Space Science and Physical Science
  
• The fifth workshop will focus on strategies for implementation and integration of technology and mathematics

Each workshop will actively engage teachers in science investigations, using an inquiry approach to build conceptual understanding. Teachers will also be challenged to explore the opportunities to integrate technology and mathematics to support the learning.
