Leadership Program
for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Secondary Students (Yrs 8-12)
(Focus Teacher to register all students)
Yellakka Yellarkarri is a leadership program for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students which has operated very successfully for many years. It provides secondary students with an opportunity to work with like-minded peers in a workshop format to develop, challenge and extend their leadership qualities.
PROGRAM OUTLINE
An intensive four day program in Term 2:
Tuesday 15 May to Friday 18 May 2018
Full Day Sessions - 9.30am-2.30pm with an optional twilight session on Wednesday, 16 May. On Wednesday students will need to be collected from Tauondi Aboriginal College at 7.00pm by parents or caregivers.
Attendance at all four days is mandatory.
All 4 days of the program will be held at Tauondi Aboriginal College, Lipson St, Port Adelaide and will focus on:
Students are required to bring their recess, lunch and drinks and wear their PE school uniform each day.
AITSL AUSTRALIAN PROFESSIONAL STANDARDS FOR TEACHERS INCLUDE
- Standard 1: Know students and how they learn
- Standard 6: Engage in professional learning
- Standard 7: Engage professionally with colleagues, parents/carers and the community
STUDENT REGISTRATIONS
Schools were forwarded a Student Enrolment Form to record student details and the name of the Supervising Teacher/s who will accompany them. Please use this information to register each student individually in their name via this registration page.
PLEASE NOTE: if you haven't already done so you must 'Sign Up' as a member before you can register. It may take up to 48hrs to receive an email confirmation with username and password.
Closing date for registering your students is Friday 4th May
