SESSION 4

COURSE INFORMATION
This workshop is intended for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Education Focus Teachers and school leaders with responsibility for ATSI education.

COURSE CONTENT

The Focus Teacher Program, Session 4, will provide participants with opportunities to:     

• Engage with teachers and Cultural Artists in Resident that have been working in our schools during this year
• Increase understanding of the development of the Reconciliation Action Plans for school communities
• Explore and contribute to new ways of developing and documenting Individual Learning Plans for Aboriginal and Torres Strait islander students
• Develop understanding of the future directions for supporting school communities to sustain improvement of the learning and wellbeing of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students. 

AITSL AUSTRALIAN PROFESSIONAL STANDARDS FOR TEACHERS INCLUDE:

• Standard 1: Know students and how they learn
• Standard 2: Plan for and implement effective teaching and learning
• Standard 4: Create and maintain supportive and safe learning environments
• Standard 6: Engage in professional learning
• Standard 7: Engage professionally with colleagues, parents/carers and the community
