PROJECT DESCRIPTION

This inquiry assists schools to understand the behavioural, social and learning issues often associated with children who have experienced trauma. It does this in two ways:
1. Through participation in two days of professional learning focusing on brain development and the impact of trauma on brain development.
2. By developing an action research inquiry focusing on children exhibiting trauma-consistent behaviour.

PROJECT STRUCTURE

  • Two days of professional learning for the whole school in Term 1, 2018
  • A Research Action Inquiry and Report
  • A meeting of two hours with the Australian Childhood Foundation and a Behaviour Education Consultant in Terms 1-3, 2018 and Term 1,2019
  • Participation in a mid-point Inquiry Sharing Day (Term 4,2018)
  • Participation in an end-of-inquiry Showcase Day (Term 2,2019)
