SPiCE Workshop

Literacy in Playgroup:
Talking, Singing, Reading and Mark Making

INTENDED AUDIENCE
This workshop is for participants in the SPiNS and SPiCE (Supported Playgroups) programs, as well as educators working with children aged birth to three years.

Registration essential by Thursday 15th May 2017

THE WORKSHOP:

This practical workshop will be focused on how to work with the ideas of literacy in a supported playgroup setting.  We will begin by developing our understandings of literacy and how it grows and develops from birth.  Together we will explore and develop some experiences for babies and children which will encourage their growth in these areas.  Finally we will look at some strategies to engage families in their children's literacy learning, both at playgroup and at home.
