In this course we will:

Unpack the impacts, constructions and problems of trauma, grief, neglect, abuse, substantiated notifications, in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander contexts.

Critically reflect upon the history of the trauma of colonisation, including cultural disconnect and dispossession and dominant responses to trauma.

Refer to sites of trauma experienced by Aboriginal peoples and cultural responses to trauma and safety, in the past, present and future.

Discuss CESA's Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Education vision and values for promoting supportive and culturally sensitive schooling contexts.

Examine and experience healing and restoration.
