Numeracy in Playgroup: I measure and compare my world

INTENDED AUDIENCE
This workshop is for participants in the SPinS and SPiCE supported playgroups programs, as well as educators working with children aged birth to three years.

THE WORKSHOP:

This practical workshop will be focused on how to work with the ideas of measuring and comparing in a supported playgroup setting.  We will begin by developing our understandings of numeracy in general and measuring and comparing in particular.  Together we will explore and develop some experiences for babies and children which will encourage their growth in these areas.  Finally we will look at some strategies to engage families in their children's numeracy learning, both at playgroup and at home.
