DESCRIPTION

Understanding by Design enables the design of learning for understanding and learning transfer. The design framework will assist schools to enable deeper learning through the Australian Curriculum. Understanding by Design frames three stages of design:

1. Identify desired results
2. Determine assessment evidence
3. Plan learning experiences and instruction

Network participants will need to commit to the following:

• Attendance at 2 days of formal professional learning - March 7 and May 29,2017
  
• Supporting teachers at their school site (whole staff or small group) to trial UBD to design, teach and assess learning during the period between March 7 and May 29
• Engagement and professional dialogue with other schools in the network to support further embedding of the Understanding by Design framework.
