This one day seminar is for CESA schools in PAT Phases 1 and 2.  It is ideal for schools new or unfamiliar with the online assessment and reporting platform, who would benefit from learning how to navigate the system efficiently, generate all reports and interpret the student results provided in the PAT reports to inform teaching and learning. Each school should nominate two staff to attend.

Session one:  Understanding PAT scales and PAT reports – covers the following areas:  raw scores, scale scores, norm reference groups, measuring growth, stanines and progress over time.  The relationship between the data provided is explained in detail.

Session two:  Using the data – covers analysing students’ patterns of response and report generation and familiarisation.  Group reports, charts, bands report, norm report, scale descriptors, individual reports and report features are explained and participants are given the opportunity to use this knowledge in analysing their school data.

Session three:  Navigating the PAT Teaching Resources Centre – focus on comprehension – covers using PAT reports to influence teaching practice; exploring the PAT Teaching Resources Centre; linking results to PAT TRC strategies; developing example individual learning plans.

Session four:  A repeat of session three, but focusing on mathematics

Please ensure that you have your own device able to access wifi outside of your school.
