‘NGUNYAWAYITI NGADLUKU NGARTU-ITYA’ 2016
***STUDENT/TEACHER REGISTRATION***
Cultural Program for Yr R-3 ATSI Students
PROGRAM FULL, NO PLACES LEFT!
PROGRAM INFORMATION
We are privileged to have the program facilitated by Karl Winda Telfer, a proud Aboriginal man who comes from a family of strong cultural and political activity. Karl is a highly respected cultural educator and story-teller, as well as a talented presenter, artist and designer. Karl will be assisted by his nephew, Karno Kuri Martin, who has been mentored by his uncle for most of his life.
What is Country? What is Culture? What is our responsibility? These are the key questions that will be addressed throughout the day. The program will focus on Ecological Sustainability, particularly in relation to our marine environment, and involve a rich variety of experiences including beachcombing, story-telling, sand drawing, dance and the Marine Discovery Centre learning stations. A highlight will be ‘Wonggayerlo: Footprints in the Sand’ featuring Karl Telfer and Michael Mills.

This will also enable teachers to interact with the students, meet other Focus Teachers and build relationships with members of the Aboriginal community. ATSI Education team members will also be present.
