December 8th, 2015 marked the beginning of the Holy Year of Mercy, initiated by Pope Francis as a "time of grace, peace, conversion and joy". But what does the Bible say about mercy? What texts provide insights about mercy in the Old and New Testaments? How does the Catholic Tradition help us to appreciate this quality more fully? This PLW will unpack a range of scripture texts, including parables, and examine ways in which these texts can be brought to life in the classroom so that they become relevant, engaging and life-giving. Explicit links with the Crossways Key ideas will also be explored.
