DAY 4

COURSE INFORMATION
This workshop is intended for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Education Focus Teachers and school leaders with responsibility for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander education.

DETAILS

We will be meeting at St Mary Magdalene’s School which has developed an impressive, interactive Indigenous garden. Students will take participants on guided tours and we will explore ways in which an Indigenous garden can be a rich resource when curriculum planning.

We will hear from some of our Focus Teachers who have kindly agreed to share their Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Education journeys with us, including Tim Packer who spent three years teaching at Yirara College in Alice Springs. 

In the afternoon, Kate Tyrwhitt from St Michael’s College Primary will share some of her wisdom around incorporating Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander perspectives into Visual Arts, and then lead us in an engaging practical art activity.

Morning tea and lunch will be provided. Please advise of any dietary requirements
