 COURSE DESCRIPTION
To be considered for support from the CESA EAL Program in 2017, schools will need to submit data indicating the numbers of EAL students enrolled and their level of need, assessed using the Language and Literacy Levels.  To ensure consistency across schools in the interpretation of levels and level decisions, schools must ensure that teachers assessing student texts have attended at least one moderation day conducted by the EAL team. A maximum of 30 participants for each workshop

AITSL NATIONAL PROFESSIONAL STANDARDS FOR TEACHERS INCLUDE:

INTENDED FOR:
EAL Network teachers, classroom teachers and subject teachers who are involved in the leveling of EAL student work samples and EAL data collection process in their school.

PROGRAM OUTLINE:

  • Overview of the data collection process
  • Clarifying sessions - Levels
  • Individual leveling

IMPRORTANT NOTES:
Participants must bring their student work samples including multiple copies if joint levelling, hard or electronic copy of the Language and Literacy Levels and highlighter pens. In consideration of others, participants are reminded that during individual levelling time noise is to be kept to a minimum.

Cost: no workshop fee

Catering: morning tea and lunch will be  provided
