EAL Assessment for Learning Using the Language and Literacy Levels - 2 Day Workshop - Term 1, 2016

COURSE DESCRIPTION The Language and Literacy Levels across the Australian Curriculum: EALD students is the tool used by teachers of EAL learners to assess and plan for their language and literacy development. The Levels provide detailed information about students' written and oral language development which can be used for assessment and programming purposes for all students.
COURSE INFORMATION Participants are required to attend both sessions When: Day 1 - Monday 29 February 2016, 9.00am - 4.00pm Room 7 Day 2 - Tuesday 08 March 2016, 9.00am - 4.00pm Room 7
Location: Catholic Education Conference Centre 116 George Street, Thebarton AITSL NATIONAL PROFESSIONAL STANDARDS FOR TEACHERS INCLUDE: Standard 5 - Assess, provide feedback and report on student learning 5.1 Assess student learning 5.3 Make consistent and comparable judgments 5.4 Interpret student data Standard 6 - Engage in professional learning 6.2 Engage in professional learning and improve practice 6.3 Engage with colleagues and improve practice INTENDED FOR:This workshop is suitable for primary and secondary teachers who wish to learn how to use the Levels to assess oral and written language as an assessment for learning tool. Also schools that are intending to submit EAL data in 2016 need to ensure that at least one of their teachers is trained in using the Levels.
