The Inclusion & Learning Team in partnership with the Australian Childhood Foundation invite you to join us for the Trauma Sensitive Schools Project Showcase. The Showcase is a presentation and celebration of an 18 month action research project. The focus of the project was threefold:
1. Understanding the physiological effects of trauma on brain development in children 2. Developing and implementing classroom strategies to calm and support children exhibiting highly challenging behaviours 3. Developing and implementing classroom practices to engage and support traumatised children to learn.
Schools will share their project journey and we will discuss options for trauma sensitive schools initiatives for the next three years.
