Financial Literacy Overview - MoneySmart Workshop 1 (1 hour)

• introduction to consumer and financial literacy to whole staff - its importance and how it can be taught as a context for teaching the Australian Curriculum;
• overview of the MoneySmart Teaching package and the MoneySmart units of work

The workshop will focus on science as a context for teaching financial literacy.  All teachers will receive a certificate of attendance from ASIC.

Exploring the Science Resources (2 hours)      

Teachers will engage with one of the units provided on the MoneySmart website in either a primary or secondary setting. 

The overall content and timing of this section could be negotiated with the school to suit their needs.
