SCRATCH DAY 8th May 2015
Join the Learning and Technologies Team on Friday 8th May at the Catholic Education Office to meet, share, learn, and celebrate Scratch Day. Scratch Day is a global network of events that celebrates the Scratch 2.0 visual programming environment and its applications for learning.
Participants will have a chance to learn more about Scratch, share projects, collaborate with other educators and have fun. All levels of experience are welcome. Concurrent workshops will occur to suit a variety of interests and experience levels. Robotics and maker technology will also be available to use with Scratch.
Scratch is a programming language and online community where you can create your own interactive stories, games, and animations -- and share your creations with others around the world. In the process of designing and programming Scratch projects, young people learn to think creatively, reason systematically, and work collaboratively. Scratch is a project of the Lifelong Kindergarten group at the MIT Media Lab. It is available for free at http://scratch.mit.edu”
The workshop will run for 7 hours. No prior knowledge of Scratch is required.
Registration is free. Please note TRT funding is not available for this event.
