Integrating Sustainability and Ecology across the curriculum online course

COURSE DESCRIPTION

This course will help participants to gain confidence in incorporating sustainability as a theme in their teaching. We will explore the Australian Curriculum and Cross Curriculum Priority of Sustainability along with Crossways the Religious Education Framework for Catholic schools.  Participants will learn more about 'education for sustainability' and 'ecological conversion' and what this means as an educator along with how to integrate this concept across all learning areas. Participants will be provided with case studies form schools and planning time to develop a unit of work.

This course is designed to be fully online

The material presented in this course meet the requirements of a 6 hour System Accredited Module (SAM). In order for this to be recognized as a SAM, participants will be expected to complete activities on the online portal to show their learning and engagement. This can be done in the participants own time, as separate sessions after school, or on the scheduled day at a venue of the participants choice. Upon registration, participants will be invited onto the online portal which will be wikispaces.
