Picture books are a great way to open up questions in the classroom about what it means to be human. Guest teachers will share their experiences of utilising Literature Circles as a way of exploring our humanity. In Le Petit Prince the prince learns the importance of relationship. Speaking to the many roses before him, he says: “You’re not at all like my rose; you’re nothing at all yet.” He said. “No one has tamed you and you have tamed no one. You are like my fox. He was only a fox like a hundred thousand others. But I made him my friend, and now he is unique in the world.” Kirsty from Pauline Books will be at the workshop with a range of picture books for RE. Bring your favourite piece of children’s literature and share.
