ICT PEER COACHING COURSE - 3 FULL DAYS
ICT Peer coaching is three day intensive course that enables participants to become facilitators of the course in their own school. The course focuses on using coaching methodology with an ICT focus to build sustainable change of practice within schools.
COURSE DESCRIPTION
This course will be facilitated by Expanding Learning Horizons in collaboration with the Learning and Technologies Team. Participants in this course are expected to be passionate leaders in ICT and willing to promote, mentor and share their new knowledge and experiences in collaboration with their colleagues to build capacity and sustain change in their school context.
The course aims to not only improve teachers’ use of technology in teaching and learning, but also train them in the use of specific language and reflective processes that will help them coach other teachers. This will ensure that the coaching program can be cost effectively scaled, developing a school-based team of coaches.

INTENDED FOR
School Curriculum Leaders and Classroom Teachers who are experienced in utilizing ICTs to improve student learning outcomes.
PROGRAM OUTLINE
Why peer coaching? Overview and research that supports peer coaching.
Day 1: The what, why, and how of peer coaching
Research supporting peer coaching, coaching roles and responsibilities, the coaching cycle, developing a school coaching plan, 21st century learning and the language of coaching.
Day 2: Assessing lesson design
What does ICT rich learning look like? Assessing lesson design through improvement templates, and coaching role plays
Day 3: Lesson improvement templates, reflection on school coaching plan, coaching roadblocks, professional development standards and evaluation.
Preparing other coaches. Explore and apply the principles of highly effective coaching to eventually accredit others within your school.
Discuss, reflect and analyse the implementation of sustaining peer coaching, coaching road blocks and the coaching plan.
