DIGITAL TECHNOLOGIES FOR PRIMARY TEACHERS

Would you like to learn how to:

  • Write a computer program?
  • Develop an algorithm?
  • Interpret binary code?

If you answered yes to these questions then this workshop is for you.

COURSE DESCRIPTION

The course provides an opportunity for primary teachers to explore concepts within the Digital Technologies curriculum (Australia Curriculum: Technologies) and apply these within the Mathematics learning area. It is hoped that through these workshops participants will develop an understanding of how Digital Technologies can be integrated with other learning areas.

Through practical activities teachers will:

  •    Explore visual programming  tools
  •     Design and implement algorithms
  •     Collect and manipulate data
  •      Interpret and write binary code
  •      Understand components of digital and information System

COURSE INFORMATION

The course will provide participants with a variety of learning opportunities that include the use of desktop computers, tablets and un-plugged activities. No previous experience with digital technologies curriculum is required.

The course will be delivered over 3 days.
