MAKING CONNECTIONS with digital technologies

WORKSHOP DESCRIPTION

This half-day workshop will allow participants to explore a number of resources and develop skills to help them implement digital activities in the classroom.

Participants will explore an integrated approach to curriculum to encourage students to recognize the connections between Technologies and other learning areas.

Participants will have opportunities to explore a range of tools including

  • littleBits [electronic modules that snap together]
  • Edison [Robotics]
  • Makey Makey [connect a USB to turn everyday objects like bananas into touchpads]
  • Augmented reality apps (or blended reality)– [primarily for iPads]

R-6 Teachers interested in increasing the providing students with opportunities to learn about and work with traditional, contemporary and emerging technologies.

PROGRAM OUTLINE

Participants will explore a range of digital tools to address cross curricula outcomes, with a focus on Technologies.
