CESA RESTORATIVE PRACTICES PROJECT

Expression of Interest

The funding model for this project is co-responsibility. The cost of participation in the project is $5000.00 of this CESA will contribute $3500.00 and school are required to contribute $1500 

The CESA Restorative Practices Project is a two year change process designed at assist principals to inform their school community about Restorative Practices and implement Restorative Practices as the behaviour education framework in their school. The Behaviour Education Team will develop and facilitate the various processes of the project in collaboration with the Principal. The project will involve up to six schools.

COURSE DESCRIPTION

The Restorative Practices Project will:

  • Explore an understanding of Christian anthropology that is consistent with the Catholic Identity of your school
  • Engage with a model for understanding human behaviour
  • Develop an understanding of, and practice in, a suite of interventions for conflict resolution and the restoration of relationships
  • Develop and understanding of, and practice in Circle Time as a process for building social connection and classroom cohesion
  • Support processes to revise and implement a Behaviour Education Policy and procedures that reflect Restorative Practices in the context of your school identity
  • Provide support to develop processes for parent and student education about Restorative Practices
  • Establish a professional network to support restorative practitioners
  • Provide certification as a CESA Restorative Community
