Cultural Custodianship: Towards Transformational Leadership in Education

COURSE INFORMATION

Day 3 of the ATSI Focus Teacher Program 2014.  Intended for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Education Focus Teachers and school leaders with responsibility for ATSI education.

PRESENTERS AND CORE FOCI

Key Facilitator Jonathan Lindsay-Tjapaltjarri Hermawan - Fire and Water Consultancies will:

• Deepen our investigation into what it means to be a 'Cultural Custodian'
• Explore the dynamics of social privilege and marginalization
• Discuss how to transform Catholic schooling to be experienced as culturally safe and liberating

Associate Professor Peter Gale - Senior Lecturer, UNISA will help us reflect upon our knowledge and learning, and building capacity for cultural intelligence in the 21st Century.

Morning tea and lunch will be provided. Please advise of any dietary requirements

TRT may be available upon request for schools with 5 or less ATSI students
