Learning and Inclusive Education Leaders

Description

The combined Leaders of Learning and Inclusive Education Leaders Network day will provide an opportunity for Leaders to come together to deeply explore our collective approach to ensuring Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS) are effectively and consistently embedded across Catholic Schools in South Australia.

This day will feature a keynote presentation by experts in MTSS at the Australian Education Research Organisation (AERO) and will be grounded in research, providing an evidence-based approach to discussions and planning for effective MTSS practices across our schools. Specifically, there will be a focus on:

cognitive similarities and how students learn,
teaching that aligns with how students learn – the components of high-quality Tier 1 instruction,
diverse needs and cognitive differences and
school-wide implementation of multi-tiered systems of support - designing staffing structures (teachers, leaders, specialists and paraprofessionals), timetabling Tier 2 and Tier 3 interventions, and optimising instructional intensity.

Led by the Excellence, Equity and Inclusion section, expert guidance will be provided by our Curriculum, Assessment and Pedagogy Team; Diversity and Inclusion Team; and CILAH Team. Participants will have the opportunity to consider current MTSS practices in your school; identified areas of strength and opportunities for growth; consider strategies for improvement; and determination of roles and responsibilities at the school level to ensure effective practices are in place. Microsoft Learning Accelerators - Reading Coach & Reading Progress

Description

Give your students engaging, individualised reading fluency practice. Reading Coach is a Microsoft AI powered learning accelerator that provides guidance on the correct pronunciation and syllabification, visuals to help vocabulary recall, and positive reinforcement when students pronounce words correctly.

Track students reading skills, give educators actionable insights quickly, and focus students on specific areas for improvement with Reading Progress. By streamlining the reading assignment creation, review, and analysis process, educators can spend more of their time on action instruction.

AITSL National Professional Standards for Teachers Include

Standard 1: Know students and how they learn.

Standard 2: Know the content and how to teach it.

Standard 3: Plan for and implement effective teaching and learning.

Standard 4: Create and maintain supportive and safe learning environments.

Standard 5: Assess, provide feedback and report on student learning.

Special Requirements: Attendees will need to have access to Microsoft Teams and have their class setup in teams. Attendees will need to have access to the Reading Coach App, Reading Coach and Reading Progress Learning accelerators.
