DESCRIPTION:https://registrationcentre.cesa.catholic.edu.au/event-841420\n\nEAL Data Collection Process 2014\n \nLevelling Moderation Days\n  Last Day to Register: Tuesday 20th May 2014\n (MONDAY'S SESSIONS IS NOW FULL)\n    COURSE DESCRIPTION\n To be considered for support from the CESA EAL Program in 2015\, schools will need to submit data indicating the numbers of EAL students enrolled and their level of need\, assessed using the Language and Literacy Levels.  To ensure consistency across schools in the interpretation of levels and level decisions\, schools must ensure that teachers assessing student texts have attended at least one moderation day conducted by the EAL team.\n  COURSE INFORMATION\n When: \n Term 2 - Monday 26th May 9.00am - 4.00pm - Room 6 - SESSION FULL\n                   Tuesday 27th May 9.00am - 4.00pm - Room 7 & 8\n                   Wednesday 28th May 9.00am - 4.00pm - Room 7 & 8                                    \nLocation:     Catholic Education Conference Centre\n                          116 George Street\, Thebarton\n                      \n A maximum of 30 participants for each workshop\n  CORE FOCI AND PRIORITIES\nEAL learners\n \nAITSL NATIONAL PROFESSIONAL STANDARDS FOR TEACHERS INCLUDE:\n Standard 5 - Assess\, provide feedback and report on student learning\n      5.1 Assess student learning\n       5.4 Interpret student data\n Standard 6 - Engage in professional learning\n       6.3 Engage with colleagues and improve practice\n \n INTENDED FOR:\nEAL Network teachers\, classroom teachers and subject teachers who are involved in the leveling of EAL student work samples and EAL data collection process in their school.\n  PROGRAM OUTLINE:\n      * Overview of the data collection process\n\n        * Clarifying sessions - Levels\n\n        * Individual leveling\n\n        * Submission of samples to be moderated by the EAL team\n\n  IMPRORTANT NOTES:\nParticipants must bring their student work samples including multiple copies if joint leveling\, hard or electronic copy of the Language and Literacy Levels and highlighter pens. In consideration of others\, participants are reminded that during individual levelling time noise is to be kept to a minimum.\n \nCost: no workshop fee\n  Catering: morning tea and lunch will be  provided\n  Parking is not available on site.
