Have you applied for Accreditation to Teach in a Catholic School?

The requirements for accreditation are the completion of four tertiary education courses in Catholic Studies and the completion of the Teacher Induction Module. “Teachers who gain permanent employment in South Australian Catholic Schools are required to be accredited to teach in South Australian Catholic Schools according to the policy provisions of 3.3 and 3.4.

  • 3.4 - teachers are required to complete an approved course in Catholic Studies within the first five years of employment. These courses may include the Graduate Certificate in Catholic Education, the Catholic Studies sequence in the Bachelor of Education at UniSA or other approved programs (ie completion of four semester-length, approved tertiary Catholic Studies units.” (Catholic Education SA Teacher Accreditation policy 2012).

Note, you are eligible to apply once you have completed four tertiary Catholic Studies courses and the Teacher Induction Module.  Please ensure your school APRIM/Principal endorses the application form before submitting to carmen.larwood@cesa.catholic.edu.au.
