DESCRIPTION:https://registrationcentre.cesa.catholic.edu.au/event-1817324\n\nEAL\n \n Assessment for Learning Using the Language and Literacy Levels - 2 Day Workshop - Term 1\n  Last Day to Register: Monday 02 March 2015\n    COURSE DESCRIPTION\n The Language and Literacy Levels across the Australian Curriculum: EALD students has been developed by DECD with support from CESA to update and align the SACSA Scope and Scales with Australian Curriculum subjects.\n  The Language and Literacy Levels is the tool used by teachers of EAL learners to assess and plan for their language and literacy development. The Levels provide detailed information about students' written and oral language development which can be used for assessment and programming purposes for all students.\n  COURSE INFORMATION\n          Participants are required to attend both sessions\n When:         Day 1 - Monday 16th March 2015\, 9.00am - 4.00pm\n                                        Room 7\n                         Day 2 - Tuesday 31st March 2015\, 9.00am - 4.00pm\n                                        Room 7\n  Location:     Catholic Education Conference Centre\n                          116 George Street\, Thebarton\n                      \n A maximum of 15 participants for each workshop\n  CORE FOCI AND PRIORITIES\nACARA Student diversity English as an Additional language students\n \n AITSL NATIONAL PROFESSIONAL STANDARDS FOR TEACHERS INCLUDE:\n Standard 5 - Assess\, provide feedback and report on student learning\n      5.1 Assess student learning\n       5.3 Make consistent and comparable judgments\n       5.4 Interpret student data\n Standard 6 - Engage in professional learning\n       6.2 Engage in professional learning and improve practice\n       6.3 Engage with colleagues and improve practice\n \n INTENDED FOR:\nThis workshop is suitable for primary and secondary teachers who wish to learn how to use the Levels to assess oral and written language as an assessment for learning tool.\n  PROGRAM OUTLINE:\nParticipants are encouraged to bring their own laptop or tablet.\n Day 1 and 2\n      * An introduction to the Language and Literacy Levels and links to the Australian Curriculum\n\n        * Learn about the functional model of language at text\, sentence and word levels\n\n        * Use the levels to assess student writing and identify teaching and learning needs\n\n  Cost: no workshop fee\n  Catering: morning tea and lunch will be  provided\n  Parking is not available on site.
