Expression of Interest in Secondary Numeracy Network 2016

The Numeracy Team offers a Secondary Numeracy Network, for teachers in secondary and middle schools who have a leadership role in mathematics and/or numeracy. This circular is seeking expression of interest from school to be part of this network in 2016. Schools do not have to commit to all the sessions, though it would be desirable that they do. This circular is seeking expression of interest for the first session only.

The Secondary Numeracy Network aims to:

  • build capacity in leading numeracy and mathematics teaching and learning at the school level
  • develop expertise in numeracy and mathematics teaching and learning
  • provide a forum for teachers to network with others about current issues relating to the teaching and learning of mathematics and the development of numeracy. Such issues will include: STEM, Pedagogical Content Knowledge etc.
  • provide opportunities to discuss and share ideas and issues related to numeracy and mathematics such as working with of the Australian Curriculum
  • provide updates on state and national agendas relating to mathematics and numeracy
