Three Sessions on Differentiating teaching and learning for students with diverse abilities

INTENDED FOR: Teachers in North East Regional Schools

COURSE DESCRIPTION:
Three sessions will be presented over three separate days. Participants will be able to engage in 'professional teaching and learning conversations with colleagues'. The sessions are offered as a follow up from the Term 1 North East Regional Staff Conference 'Our Students, Our Call, Our Support'.  The course equates to 6 hours of professional learning towards AITSL Standards. 

Sessions will explore:

  • Evidence and data which promotes insight into differentiating teaching and learning for students with diverse learning abilities
  • Hypothetical case study approach to extend professional understanding of student learning profiles
  • Embedding professional teaching and learning knowledge within current research in education     
  • Creating opportunities to continue ongoing reflective practice within school communities.

AITSL AUSTRALIAN PROFESSIONAL STANDARDS FOR TEACHERS INCLUDE:

Standard 1 - Know students and how they learn

Session 1 - Thursday 28 May, 3.30pm - 5.30pm
Session 2 - Thursday 27 August, 3.30pm - 5.30pm
Session 3 - Thursday 29 October, 3.30pm - 5.30pm

Cost: No workshop fee
Requirements: All participants are required to attend all sessions.
