It's A World of Languages (Year 9 Students)
Registration Deadline: Friday 05 June 2015
The Catholic Education Office would like to invite you and your Year 9 students to the It's a World of Languages program - a half-day program designed to increase students' awareness of the lifelong benefits of learning languages.
It's a World of Languages will focus on the challenges and benefits of learning languages and how this might be helpful in a world of linguistic and cultural diversity. This program is offered to year 9 students of all languages but some preference will be given to students that have not attended the Opening a Door into Asia program.
The program will be supported by people that have benefitted from learning languages and are today using them for their own personal and professional careers.
The half-day event is an opportunity to celebrate the work your school has been undertaking to prepare your students for the 21st Century where an understanding of languages and cultures will be useful for our students.
There are 90 places available (10 per school at this stage as further places may become available later) and some priority will be given to schools that demonstrate a commitment to extending their students' engagement with learning languages in senior secondary years.
